Terms and Conditions:


General:


This website is the property of Backwoods Camping (we, us). By accessing this website the user/customer (you) is agreeing to the Terms and Conditions (Terms) set out below, including any subsequent terms or conditions imposed by other company policies mentioned within these Terms.
If you do not agree with the Terms, you must not access or use this website in any way. By accessing this website or placing an order on this website, you agree to abide by the following Terms. It is your responsibility as the customer to ensure that you are familiar with the Terms set out below, before placing an order on the website.
We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time without prior notice. These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

Order process:


The personal details that are required from you at the payment stage of the checkout are to enable us to complete your order. All information you provide must be complete and accurate.
You may not impersonate another person, or give any information that is false in any way. All orders made on the website are done so through a secure server. You may add, delete or amend any item in your shopping basket until you submit your order on the final page of the checkout.
Please note that while we make every effort to ensure that the products are as described on the website, it is difficult to truly reflect the colour of a given item in a photograph due to the differences in a computer monitors display settings.

 

 

Acknowledgement and Acceptance of Your Order:


We reserve the right to accept or refuse any order made on the website. Refusal could be because of, but is not limited to any one of the following:


• An item of stock being unavailable for a length of time.
• Your payment method has been declined. We will contact you in these circumstances.
• You not being eligible to purchase a particular product, for example, an age-restricted sale.
• A serious misrepresentation of a product through its description or photograph on our website. (Please see note about the colour of products in the Order Process section.)


We will use the e-mail address you supply us with to confirm your order. At this point we have agreed to accept your order. We will e-mail you again once your order is ready to be dispatched for delivery. You will not be charged for your order until it is ready to be dispatched.
Our agreement to supply you with goods from our website ends when you have received the goods and are satisfied that the order has been completed correctly. You should contact us by phone or by e-mail immediately if you notice any discrepancies with your order, either in the confirmation e-mail, or once you have received the goods.
We reserve the right to offer “discounts” or “promotions” for you to purchase on the website. These will be available for a limited period on an occasional basis.
We have taken every possible precaution to ensure that the content of the website is accurate, however if this is not the case, whenever an error is reported we will notify you immediately when necessary, and amend the website accordingly.

 

 

Pricing:


We take every care to ensure that the prices on our website are 100% accurate 100% of the time. In the event that you have been under charged, we will honour the lower price at our discretion. If we decide to honour the lower price, you will not be permitted to increase the quantity of an item (or items) on your order that you have been under charged for.
If you believe you have been over charged, please e-mail Customer Services or contact us by phone, as soon as you suspect that an error has been made. We will investigate any such cases immediately.
In the event that you have been over charged, we will make every effort to ensure that you are reimbursed to the full amount owed to you as soon as possible. We aim to do this within 24 hours of an error being identified. We accept no responsibility for any monies owed to you that are delayed due to your bank. This includes any circumstances that may arise as a result.

 

 

Method of payment:

 

We accept most major credit and debit cards. We do not store your credit or debit card details, as these are processed securely. If you are having problems with your chosen method of payment, please contact customer services.

 

 

Delivery:

 

Once your order has been received, it will be packed immediately and shipped out first class. Your order should be with you within 72 hours, although we aim to get it to you sooner than this.

 

 

Return of goods:


Please refer to our Refund and Exchange Policy for all the Terms concerning the different circumstances in which you may wish to return goods.

 

 

Warranties:

 

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, all goods are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty for defects. Certain manufacturers may offer extended warranties on their products, however you may be required to register your purchase with that manufacturer to qualify for that particular warranty.



Intellectual property:

 

The logos and images of products used on this website are the property of their respective owners, and are presented merely as a representation for the purpose of informing our customers. Should you wish to use an image on our website, please contact the relevant company directly.

 

 

Complaints:


Should you feel that we could be providing a better service to our customers, or if you think that we are not abiding by any of the Terms set out here, please e-mail Customer Services customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk with the subject “Complaint”. Please give us any details you can regarding the nature of your complaint, and we will investigate as a matter the of utmost priority. We pride ourselves on the level of our customer service, and take complaints very seriously. Rest assured we will take every opportunity we can to improve the level of service we offer our customers.

 

 

Sale of knives or bladed items:


It is illegal to sell knives or any bladed item to any person under the age of 18. We reserve the right to decline an order if we believe you are under the age of 18, or otherwise have reason to suspect that supplying such an item to you could result in the unacceptable risk of others or yourself being harmed.
You are bound by these Terms, as detailed under the General heading above, to provide information that is accurate and true, which includes your date of birth. We use this information to ascertain your age, and therefore authorise any sale of restricted items such as knives and similar items.
We supply knives and other bladed items for the legitimate purposes for which they might be required whilst camping in an outdoors environment, and promote the safe and responsible use of such items by capable adults.

 

 

Business Use:

All the products featured on this website were designed with the domestic market in mind. They have not been designed to cope with the increased workload and “fair wear and tear” that a product designed for business use would be able to cope with. Therefore any products that are used for business purposes will be exempt from any claims a manufacturer might make concerning the suitability of a particular product for a given task. We accept no liability for loss of use concerning a product being used for business purposes. Our liability extends so far as the value of the item concerned, only if it can be proved that the item had an inherent fault when it was delivered to the customer, when used in these circumstances.

 

 

Miscellaneous:


Any person who does not agree to these Terms will have no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any Terms.
These Terms (and any order resulting from acceptance of these Terms) are governed exclusively by English law, and both parties agree to exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
No warranty or representation made on this website is made or implied to users who gain access to this website from countries or regions where such a warranty or representation would not comply with the regulatory regime of that country or region.

 

Data protection and privacy:

 

Your privacy, and the protection of your personal details are of the utmost importance to us. As such, we will never sell, rent or give your personal information to a third party, or allow a third party access to your personal information. We will only pass your information on to a third party when it is relevant to completing your order, when arranging delivery of your order with a courier, for instance.
We comply fully with all aspects of the Data Protection Act 1998 as well as any subsequent amendments to the Act. In accordance with the Act, all your personal information is handled and stored securely.
You have the right, as detailed in the Act, to amend your personal details whenever you wish. You can do this by e-mailing customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk . We will endeavour to act on your request within 24 hours. If you no longer want your personal information stored on our database for any reason, please e-mail Customer Services at the above address. For the purposes of fulfilling an order, we will gather the following information from you.


• Your full name including your title.
• Your home or “billing” address.
• An alternative delivery address if required.
• Your date of birth, used to calculate your age as a matter of complying with laws relating to the sale of restricted items. Not providing your date of birth means you will not be able to purchase such items from us.
• Your e-mail address.
• Your contact telephone number(s).
• Details relating to your chosen method of payment.

 

Your contact details will be used by us, solely to inform you of the status of your order, and to contact you in the unlikely event that there is a problem with your order.
We do not store or have access to your credit or debit card details, as this information is processed securely by a remote server.
By placing an order with us, you consent to your information being used in conjunction with completing said order. Your information will not be sold, rented or given to any third party for any purposes other than completing an order.
If you consent to us using your e-mail address for such purposes, we will occasionally send you e-newsletters, informing you of any new products, discounts or promotions.
You can choose to opt in to our e-newsletter, keeping you up to date with promotions, discounts and the latest products to be featured on the website. You can subscribe to this service when you register your details on our website. If you do not wish to receive such communications, please do not tick the box.

In addition to protecting your privacy, we also handle your personal information securely. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology to protect your personal data when processing transactions. SSL is the most advanced encryption software available at present, and we commit to upgrading the technology we use, should a more advanced security software package become available.

The “s” denotes that the page you are currently viewing is secure. If you navigate away from a secure page, and are asked for your any of personal details, in particular, any details relating to a method of making payments, please ensure that the new page is also secure. Refund and Exchange Policy:


Damaged Goods:


Please ensure that you check the goods when they are delivered, BEFORE signing for them. Signing for goods means that you are happy with the condition in which they have arrived, and can make any subsequent claim for damages whilst the goods were in transit very difficult.
If you discover that the goods are damaged, please refuse the delivery, and the courier will return them to us. In the event that you refuse delivery of damaged goods, please e-mail Customer Services, customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk so we can begin an investigation with the courier company.
Should you sign for the goods and then discover that they are damaged, please contact Customer Services by e-mail.

 

Faulty Goods:


If you believe that an item we have sent to you is not fit for its intended purpose, and wish to have it sent back to us for inspection, please contact Customer Services customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk immediately.
Before being returned, any dirt or marks should be removed. This will help us to investigate the matter quickly. If the item requires cleaning before we can inspect it, this may slow the process down.
Any goods returned should also include your name, address and details of how we can contact you. You should also include a brief letter, detailing what you believe the fault is. We can arrange collection of the goods at our expense; alternatively you can send them back to us if collection would not be convenient. Please include a brief description of the damage within the package.
Please send any goods you believe to be faulty to our postal address below.
All goods should be securely packaged before sent back to us.
We will process any investigations as quickly as possible, but even so they may still take some time to assess. We cannot provide any guarantee as to how long an investigation may take, but will keep you updated as often as possible with regards to your investigation.
If the goods are found to be faulty (they are not fit for purpose), you may choose only one of the following:

• to repair the goods, or
• have them replaced with a suitable alternative, or
• a full or partial refund, the value of which is to be at our discretion, and is based on the use you have already had from the item in question,

any one of which you are entitled to by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and its subsequent amendments. We will also reimburse you for the cost of sending the faulty item to us. You must provide us with proof of the amount of postage before any reimbursement can be made.
If the goods are found not to be faulty (they are fit for purpose), we will return them to you. We reserve the right to charge you for any costs incurred returning any items that are found to be fit for purpose, as well as any costs incurred whilst arranging for the item to be collected.

 

Unwanted items:


If you decide you no longer want the item(s) you have ordered, and you have not yet received an e-mail confirming your order has been dispatched, you must e-mail Customer Services customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk immediately. Any orders cancelled before they have been dispatched will not be charged for. We reserve the right to charge you for any costs already incurred whilst making arrangements to have item(s) couriered to you.
If you decide you no longer want the item(s) you have ordered, and they have already been dispatched or delivered, you must e-mail Customer Services customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk to notify us that you intend to return the items. You have 14 days from the item(s) being dispatched to you, to notify us that you intend to return the item(s). Any returns after the initial 14-day period of being dispatched are at our discretion. We may not offer a full refund in this instance, and may choose instead, to offer a reduced refund or a credit note.
You must return the item(s) to us at your own expense; we will not arrange collection in this instance. Any unwanted items must be returned unused, and in their original packaging. You should request postal insurance when returning an item to us. We reserve the right to charge the customer for any uninsured items returned to us that have been damaged in transit. All items must be securely packaged before being returned to us. Please return any unwanted items to our postal address below.
We will return any “unwanted” items that show signs of being used, to you. We reserve the right to charge you for the cost of returning such items to you. You are not legally entitled to a refund or exchange if you decide you no longer want any items you have ordered, and as such we are within our rights to refuse any used items that do not show signs of being faulty.

 

Wrong item ordered:


If you order the incorrect item, and have not yet received an e-mail confirming your order has been dispatched, you must e-mail Customer Services customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk immediately. Any orders cancelled before they have been dispatched will not be charged for. We reserve the right to charge you for any costs already incurred whilst making arrangements to have item(s) couriered to you.


You must return the item(s) to us at your own expense; we will not arrange collection in this instance. Any items that were ordered incorrectly must be returned unused, and in their original packaging. All items must be securely packaged before being returned to us. You should request postal insurance when returning an item to us. We reserve the right to charge the customer for any uninsured items returned to us that have been damaged in transit. Please return any unwanted items to our postal address below.
We will return any items that were ordered incorrectly, that show signs of being used, to you. We reserve the right to charge you for the cost of returning such items. You are not legally entitled to a refund or exchange if you decide you no longer want any items you have ordered, and as such we are within our rights to refuse any used items that do not show signs of being faulty.

 

Wrong items sent:


We strive to complete all orders with 100% accuracy. However if this is not the case, and we have sent you an item different from the one you have ordered, please e-mail Customer Services customer.services@backwoods-camping.co.uk as soon as you are made aware of the error. We will immediately dispatch the correct item to you, providing that it is in stock. We will also arrange for the incorrect item to be collected at our expense. Alternatively, you can return the item to us at our postal address below.
If the item that we should have dispatched to you is not in stock, we will contact you on the details you have provided us with, to establish whether you would like to wait for the product to come back in stock, or whether you would simply prefer a refund.
We will reimburse you for any costs that you incur when returning an item that was incorrectly sent, back to us. You should request postal insurance when returning an item to us. We reserve the right to charge the customer for any uninsured items returned to us that have been damaged in transit. We will require proof of the amount of postage before any reimbursement can be made. Any incorrect items must be collected by the courier or returned by you, unused and in their original packaging. We reserve the right to charge you for any item that is not in the condition that it was dispatched to you in. All items must be securely packaged before being returned to us.
